ADMISSIONS to Strawberry Preschool

Strawberry Preschool encourages you to call 415-388-4437 and set up a tour to see our school. Parents are welcome to bring their child with them to observe the program. If this is not possible or convenient, parents may place their child's name on our wait list; simply download a Wait List Form (a printable pdf document), complete it, and send it to us with the wait list fee.

Children entering preschool in September must be 2 years, 9 months by the end of September. Children who are younger must wait until the following year to enter the preschool.

Informational meetings are held in January or February, the year of enrollment, and serve to acquaint prospective families with plans for the upcoming year. Families are sent notices of the informational meetings in December or early January. Registration begins in March of the year of enrollment.

We encourage families to visit our program and experience a typical day at school. This is particularly important during the year prior to enrollment, as it is best for parents to understand our philosophy and program before entrusting their child to our care.

Our WAIT LIST Policy & Procedure

After visiting the school or becoming acquainted with our philosophy and programs, parents may place their child's name on our Wait List for future enrollment. There is a non-refundable $100.00 fee for placement on the wait list, to be mailed to us along with a completed Wait List Form.

• Parents may place siblings of past or present students on our wait list for our preschool or pre-kindergarten programs without incurring an additional fee as the $100 wait list fee is a "family fee." 
• Payment of this fee does not insure a place in our school but does serve to keep your child's name on our list of prospective students.  When the registration process begins in the early spring, we give priority to continuing students and siblings, and then proceed to offer spaces on the basis of order on the waiting list.  We try to maintain a healthy mix of boys and girls in each class, and may give preference to boys or girls as needed to provide a balanced social grouping. 
• The date of our receipt of the wait list form and fee determines your child's place on the wait list.

TUITION

Tuition fees are based on a September through June calendar and divided into equal nine monthly payments.  Full fees are due for the months in which holidays occur. No refund is given for days missed, including absence for illness. You can download a tuition schedule here (as a pdf).

Bills are sent out at the beginning of each month.  Payment is due by the 25th of the month; a $15 late fee will be charged for tuition not received by the 25th.  In addition, there will be a charge at an annual interest rate of 18% (1.5% per month) on any unpaid balance over 30 days.  There will be a $10 fee charged for all returned checks. Late pick-up from Child Care results in additional fees. When the first incident of lateness occurs, a $5 fine is charged for any part of each 15-minute segment of time. Subsequent lateness incidents may result in a $25 fine for any part of each 15-minute segment of time. Abuse of pick-up promptness may result in loss of Child Care privileges. Questions regarding Child Care hours should be addressed to the Preschool Director or the Child Care staff.
